The Coming War Against Saudi Arabia

America's war with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is coming. Since September 11, we have postponed the inevitable.

A ruling monarchy that possesses absolute power, sits atop the world's largest known oil reserves, finances Islamo-Fascist terrorism, spews Nazi-like anti-Jewish propaganda, and uses its wealth in a reckless manner has no future.

Our war will not be with the Saudi people but against their dictatorial, theocratic-monarchy.

The House of Saud has shown its true colors and should face the same fate as the destroyed Taliban regime which it propped. The Weekly Standard's editor William Kristol recently wrote:

"In the history of such regimes, there is often a single incident that rips the mask away from its true face. For the Saudis, September 11 was such an event." [William Kristol, "Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch: What did Prince Abdullah's Trip to Texas Accomplish?," The Weekly Standard, May 6, 2002.]

It is abundantly clear that America faces a deceitful, ungrateful, and dangerously radicalized Saudi Arabia. Let's be honest: America has an enemy in Saudi Arabia. Consider the facts:

* Saudi Arabia is home to the intolerant Wahhabi-Islamic ideology that fosters hate among Muslim youths - nearly sixty percent of the world's Muslim population is under sixteen. The Kingdom spreads its hateful ideology via madrassas throughout the Arab and non-Arab Muslim world, fueling the most dangerously militant Islamic movements. Saudi public school textbooks mandate hatred of non-Muslims, labeling them "infidels." [Neil MacFarquhar, "Anti-Western and Extremist Views Pervade Saudi Schools," New York Times, October 19, 2001]. In an increasingly interconnected world, such hatred cannot be contained within the host country. September 11 proved that.

* Saudi universities graduate more Islamic theology graduates than architects, doctors, engineers, and scientists. These neophyte theocrats are ill-prepared to compete in the modern world, and their frustration is natural fertilizer for Saudi terrorists like Osama Bin Laden and his Al-Qaeda.

* Wealthy Saudis fund terrorist organizations, including Al-Qaeda, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Taliban, and Laskar Jihad in Indonesia. Islamic extremists in Bosnia, Chechnya, Egypt, Pakistan, Kashmir, and Somalia also receive Saudi funding.

* Saudi state-run media continues a long tradition of Goebbels-like Nazi propaganda. Mark Steyn of Canada's National Post wrote that when Israel seized Adolf Eichmann in 1960, "the government-controlled Saudi newspaper ran the story under the headline, 'Arrest Of Eichmann, Who Had The Honour Of Killing Six Million Jews.'" Forty-one years later, "Al-Watan, the official Saudi government daily newspaper [ran a piece titled] 'The Jewish Sense of Superiority in the World,' [authored] by…Abdullah Aal Malhi, it informs readers that 'Jewish organizations are implementing their strategic hellish plan to take over the world.'" * The Saudis recently raised over 100 million dollars during a pro-Palestinian "Martyrs' Telethon." No such telethon was held in Saudi Arabia for America in the aftermath of September 11, particularly infuriating when one recalls that fifteen of the nineteen mass murderers were Saudi citizens. A smarmy Saudi Prince did offer a ten million dollar donation replete with a blood libel that New York City's Mayor Giuliani quickly recognized and wisely returned the tainted cash.

* Saudi ambassador to Great Britain Ghazi Algosaibi penned a celebratory poem for an Islamic female homicide-bomber. Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al Faisal flippantly dismissed this ode to mass murder as the ambassador "just exercising his poetic license."

* A manifesto signed by 113 leading Saudi "intellectuals" slammed the United States and Israel as the "true axis of evil" and called the United States "the center of world terrorism." Saudi intellectuals cannot publish such rot without the approval of the House of Saud.

* Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Abdullah haughtily demands we scale back our support for Israel, the Middle East's only viable democracy. Abdullah's foreign-policy adviser, Adel Al-Jubeir warns of "grave consequences" unless we shift course. The New York Times reports we may soon face a dreaded oil embargo and that on

"[t]he day the crown prince went to Crawford, [it] … carried a front-page story in which someone close to the Saudi regime anonymously declared it was prepared to do 'what is necessary to survive.' He explained: 'If that means we move to the right of bin Laden, so be it. To the left of [Libya's Moammar] Gadhafi, so be it. Or fly to Baghdad and embrace Saddam like a brother, so be it.'" Lt. Col. Ralph Peters (US ARMY, ret.) summed up our Saudi dilemma in the Wall Street Journal back in January:

"[The Bush] administration's admirable successes to date fall short of addressing the obvious source of fundamentalist terrorism, subversion and hatred: Saudi Arabia … [our Saudi policy] is the most preposterous and wrongheaded policy in American history since the defense of slavery. …we will not get close to the heart of the [terrorist] matter until we face up to the hateful, medieval, murderous nature of the Saudi vision of Islam. Anti-women, anti-meritocratic, anti-democracy, anti-education in any meaningful, liberating sense, racist and profoundly anti-freedom, Saudi-sponsored religious extremism, funded by all the drivers of those oversized SUVs on American roads, is the most destructive vision in the world today." America should not accommodate such a destructive vision. Removing the House of Saud from power is the first step towards a truly democratic and peaceful Middle East.
